George II Brass Dial Oak Grandfather Clock

An early 18th century George II Scottish oak cased grandfather clock by Andrew Dickie.

The clock dial is brass with a silverised chapter ring and a circular name disc 'Andrew Dickie Sterling', registered as a clock maker between 1723 to 1739.

The clock has an eight day movement that strikes the hour on a bell, lead weights and a painted bob to the pendulum.

The hood has fluted pillars with a dental moulding to the cornice and a broken arch pediment.

The top of the hood has a central brass ball and eagle finial and two replacement ball and spike finials.

The clock is in good working order but the works have not been overhauled.

The case is in original condition, the oak has a waxed polish finish.
