George IV Mahogany Coffee Table

An early 19th century George IV mahogany table reduced in height to make a coffee table.

The table has a figured mahogany top with a reeded edge, the frieze below is cross grain mahogany veneered and the edge cross banded with kingwood.

The base consists of an oblong platform base with concave sides raised on four wonderful carved mahogany claw feet that have carved acanthus and scroll supports.

The platform base has a pair of turned mahogany pillars to hold the block on which the top sits and the claw feet have casters underneath.

The table is of exceptional quality throughout and in very good condition and makes a very good large coffee table. (Circa 1825)
