An early 19th century George IV rosewood music or reading stand.
The top hinges and has a curved brass arm to hold it vertical, at an angle or horizontal to be used as a table and is released from each position by a brass button.
The rosewood removable rest has a moulded edge and two brass arms to rest music or documents on and slots into two brass lined holes in the table top.
The stand with the rest removed and fastened in the horizontal position makes an excellent lamp or side table.
As a music stand it would be good for use with a cello or classical guitar.
The table is in very good original condition with fine detail to the rosewood grain. (Circa 1830)
