Georgian Mahogany Dressing Table

A Georgian mahogany kneehole dressing table.

The dressing table has a retractable swing dressing mirror and a pair of cupboard doors with two fixed mahogany edged shelves in each.

The long slim drawer is mahogany lined with it's original brass knob handles and the lock is stamped 'GR' with a crown.

The top of the dressing table has a gallery back and the mirror has a brass catch which allows the mirror to be raised and lowered from view.

The mirror also has a brass ring handle so it can be pulled upwards and the frame is hinged so it can be angled.

The dressing table is in original condition with it's original mirror plate and has had the polish sympathetically restored.

The kneehole dressing table is made from very good heavy quality mahogany.

The dual purpose of this piece of furniture is unusual, when the mirror is lowered the top surface can be used as a desk. (Circa 1820)
