Georgian Mahogany Secretaire Chest
code:3382A fine quality Georgian mahogany secretaire chest of drawers.
The secretaire has the fitted desk drawer over three long drawers that have mahogany drawer fronts with ash and pine linings and original gilt brass drop handles.
The secretaire drawer front has two oval panels of figured mahogany that are cross banded and ebony strung with the brass handles in the centre of each panel.
The interior has a baize covered writing surface, seven ebony strung drawers, eight pigeon holes and in the centre an 'up and over' door with two drawers inside.
The chest stands on four bracket shaped feet and has a moulded edge to the top.
The chest is made from very good quality mahogany with attractive cast brass handles and is in excellent sympathetically restored condition. (Circa 1800)
