Georgian Satinwood Pembroke Table

A late 18th century Georgian satinwood Pembroke table.

The table top is made from figured satinwood that has a broad satinwood cross banded edge with box wood and ebony line inlays, an outer edge cross banding of tulip wood and box wood and an ebonised edge.

The square tapering legs have an ebony line inlay decoration and brass casters.

The table has a single oak lined drawer with compartments to the front that would have held tin tea canisters.

The drawer front is satinwood with harewood cross banding and box wood and ebony line inlay and has a brass handle and a working lock and key.

To each side of the drawer is a decorative oblong panel of figured mahogany with a box wood and ebony boarder.

On the opposite side to the drawer is a dummy drawer with all the same matching decorations.

The table flaps when raised have a pair of gated supports to hold them in place.

This very attractive, quality made table is in good condition. (Circa 1795)
