An early 19th century Georgian Scottish cut glass 'Toddy Lifter'.

The bulbous glass implement has a hexagonal cut neck and was designed to lift a measure of hot punch from bowl to glass.

The round bulbous end lowered into the punch bowl, a finger was then placed on the narrow open end so the liquid can be lifted into a glass, the same principle when using a pipette.

The toddy lifter is in excellent original condition. (Circa 1810)
