A late 19th to early 20th century Japanese Meiji period (1868 - 1912) bronze figure of an elephant.

The bronze is in the form of an elephant being attacked by two tigers.

The elephant has ivory tusks that lift out and has a character signature on the underside.

The figure is in good original condition. (Circa 1900)
