Japanese Satsuma Gyokusen Bowl & Lid
A late 19th century Japanese Satsuma Meijii period (1868-1913) pottery bowl and lid.
The gourd shaped bowl is signed underneath with the mark for Gyokusen in black and gold.
The bowl and lid are highly decorated with hand painted figures that are highlighted in gilt and the lid has a gilded knob handle.
The interior of the bowl and lid are decorated in the style of a scroll with seven seated deities with trees and foliage in the background.
The bowl is in very good condition and comes with a carved wood stand. (Circa 1890)
