Japanese Satsuma Pottery Vase

A late 19th century Japanese Satsuma pottery vase from the Meiji period (1864-1912).

The vase has a broad rounded body with a long slim trumpet shaped neck and a pair of faux bamboo handles.

The vase has a dark blue background with two main panels showing a Samurai warrior kneeling and paying homage to his lord and the other with kneeling ladies and a gent.

The lower rim and neck of the vase has raised gilt decoration.

The vase is in very good condition. (Circa 1890)
