Large Newman Artist's Paint Box
A middle of the 19th century Victorian mahogany artist's paint box.
The box is made by Newmans and has a pressed leather insert on the underside of the lid that shows a church and Newman's Manufactory.
The box has a fitted interior with a lift out tray holding 18 block paints, a larger Chinese ink block and under the tray are four pottery paint dishes.
The top also holds a glass water dish, a pottery mixing dish and a brush compartment.
The box has a single mahogany lined drawer with a brass locking pin that holds a Wedgwood pottery pallet tray.
The box and fittings are in good condition, there is a lock but no key. (Circa 1870)
