19th Century Satsuma Vase

A late 19th century Japanese Satsuma pottery vase from the Meiji period (1864-1911).

The slender hexagonal shaped vase is decorated with two main panels, one showing a landscape with a waterfall and Kannon or Rakan (Buddhist Monks).

The other panel shows a village with gardens and Japanese men and women in traditional dress.

The vase is in good condition and is signed with a character mark underneath in gold on black. (Circa 1890)
