Nanking Cargo Tea Bowl & Saucer
A mid 18th century Chinese porcelain tea bowl and saucer.
The bowl & saucer were recovered from the wreck of the Dutch East India Company ship the Geldermalsen which sank in 1752.
The recovered pieces from the wreck are now referred to as "The Nanking Cargo".
The tea bowl and saucer has the Batavian Bamboo and Peony pattern to the inside and a brown glaze to the outside.
Both pieces have the Christie's Auctioneers label underneath with Lot 5244 marked.
The bowl and saucer are in good condition. (Circa 1750)
