A pair of early 20th century Japanese Kutani porcelain chargers or dishes made in the Meiji period (1864-1912).

The porcelain chargers are highly decorated with a pair of Japanese ladies in traditional dress playing musical instruments with furniture and flowers in the background.

The scenes are painted in an off centre circle with a scrolling gilt border.

The dishes have a gilt edge with an inner edge painted with sample patterns all highlighted in gilt.

The dishes are in excellent condition and have around twelve character marks signing the underside. (Circa 1910)
