Pair of Regency Gilt Brass Girandoles
A pair of early 19th century Regency gilt brass girandoles.
The girandoles are decorated with lying dogs and cut glass prism drops that hang from a candle holder.
The girandoles have an oblong base with a lying dog, a hound on one and a lurcher on the other.
To the rear of each is a support post which holds the curved candle holder that simulates a plant stem.
The stem scrolls to one side and curves up the candle holder to the other side.
To the underside of each candle sconce are ten curved arms with flower tips holding a string of fine cut prisms.
The candle holders lift out as do the stems from the plinth bases.
The girandoles are in good original condition. (Circa 1820)
