Pair of William IV Rosewood Pole Screens

A pair of early 19th century William IV rosewood pole screens.

The screens have stands that are constructed from solid rosewood and have shaped circular bases raised on three carved scrolling feet.

The lower column is turned and carved and gradually tapers upwards to the slim pole the screens hang on.

The screens have needlework panels of flowers and foliage that are held in circular rosewood frames that have carved flowers and swags decoration at the top and bottom edges.

The back of each screen has a brass collar which can lock the screen at the desired height.

The screens are very good quality and in good original condition, the half round rosewood rims of the screens do have some shrinkage. (Circa 1840)
