A late 19th century Parian china bust of Sir Isaac Pitman (1813-1897).
Sir Isaac Pitman developed the most widely used system of shorthand, known now as Pitman shorthand.
The bust has been modelled by Sir Thomas Brock RA (1847-1922) the famous London sculptor, in 1887 before Isaac Pitman had been knighted by Queen Victoria.
The bust is marked on the back 'T Brock RA Sc London 1887' and with the letters 'HB'.
The bust is in good original condition. (Circa 1887)
