Regency Mahogany Cabinet Bookcase

An early 19th century Regency period mahogany cabinet bookcase.

The cabinet base has a carved gadrooned top edge and a pair of doors with flamed mahogany recessed panels and a gilt brass bead where the doors meet.

The cross grained frieze above the doors hides a pair of disguised mahogany lined drawers with an ebony edged bead to the lower edge.

The cabinet has an open bookshelf top that is ebony edged, stepped and has a gilt brass pierced gallery top.

The cabinet is raised on small reeded mahogany bun feet in the style of Gillows and the interior has a single slide out adjustable shelf.

The cabinet bookcase is made of very good quality mahogany and in good condition with a working lock and key. (Circa 1820)
