Regency Mahogany Secretaire Bookcase

An early 19th century Regency mahogany secretaire bookcase.

The bookcase is of a smaller size with a two door top that has triple reeded glazing bars for the 24 glass panes.

The interior of the top has two adjustable shelves with concave and reeded front edges.

The cornice is dome topped with decorative panels of triple reeded beading to match the glazing bars.

The base has three oak lined graduated drawers with the secretaire drawer above.

The secretaire drawer has a fall front and is fitted with two long and four small drawers that are oak lined and have gilt brass battle-axe handles.

The drawers are arranged above six pigeon holes and the bookcase is raised on four shaped bracket feet.
