Regency Rosewood Pole Screen

An early 19th century Regency rosewood pole screen.

The pole has an adjustable screen panel and the base has three block feet with a concave shaped platform above.

The base of the pole has a spiral round carved ball , a tapering reeded lower support and the thin round turned pole on which the screen slides are all solid rosewood.

The oblong screen has a 'Berlin' needlework panel of birds that is held in a rosewood frame.

The frame has a reeded rim and scroll carving to the corners, the back of the screen has two brass rings which attach to the pole.

The tip of the rosewood pole has a turned brass urn finial.
