Rolling Moon Dial Grandfather Clock

A middle of the 19th century early Victorian mahogany cased Grandfather clock.

The clock has a painted rolling moon dial and eight day works that strike hourly on a bell.

The rolling moon at the top of the clock face is beautifully painted with four scenes: a pastoral scene with a windmill, a full moon, a gentleman outside of a 'Fine Ales and Porter' pub and another full moon.

The arch above the moon dial is a calendar numbered 1-29, the front dial has applied to the front a brass plaque 'Bissel Dundee'.

The mahogany case has been veneered with flamed mahogany to the door and surrounding panels.

The door is flanked with quarter columns that have carved capitals and has a working lock and key.

The hood has a swan neck pediment and three turned decorative finials, the clock is raised on four original ogee shaped legs.

The clock is in full working order. (Circa 1840)
