Set of Six British Volunteers Prints

 

A set of six coloured aquatints of British Military Volunteers.

The prints were drawn and engraved by Charles Tomkins and published in 1799-1800 by Egerton Whitehall.

The engravings show the volunteers uniforms and colours of The Norfolk Rangers, The Honourable Artillery Corps, The Pimlico Volunteer Association, The Pendennis Artillery Volunteers, The Surrey Gentlemen & Yeomen Light Dragoons and The Bloomsbury & Inns of Court Association.

The engravings have been expensively mounted in stained wood frames with decorative pierced corners and have coloured mounts.

The engravings are in very good condition and well framed with an old label on the back for Paul Mason Gallery, Sloane Street, London. (Circa 1800)
