Solomon's Temple Sampler

A mid 19th century Victorian wool work sampler by Sarah Halls 1850.

The large sampler has a needlework picture of Solomon's Temple to the centre, with a scrolling foliage around the outer edge and flowers, birds, vases and stars surrounding the temple.

Above the temple is reads:

"And the house when it was in building was built of stone  and made ready before it was brought thither so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron head in the house while it was in building"

And below the temple is reads:

" Sarah Halls work in the 13th year of her age done at Mrs Hunters School Newburn August 7th 1850 John Hall Joanna Hall John Brotherhood Sarah Brotherhood".

The sampler is in good condition and is mounted in an oak frame.
