Victorian Oak Metamorphic Library Chair
A late 19th century Victorian metamorphic oak library chair or steps.
The chair has a pierced cross rail back with square legs and a brass locking bar to one side.
The unlocking of the bar allows the chair back to rotate forward on the hinged mid seat and converts into a four tread library step.
The locking bar will then fasten the back in place as a step.
The chair is made of solid oak with strong brass hinges and is in very good condition. (Circa 1880)
