Victorian Walnut Piano Top Davenport
A very good example of a 19th century Victorian burr walnut piano top davenport.
The davenport has a spring mechanism 'pop-up' that has two drawers and four pigeon holes that are satin birch with rosewood marquetry.
The desk interior has a slide forward writing board which can be angled as a reading stand.
The interior has two drawers above the writing slope and to the right hand side storage compartments.
The davenport has a cupboard door to both sides, to the left is a shelf and to the right four drawers with recessed knob handles.
The davenport is walnut veneered to all sides so it can free stand and is raised on concealed casters.
The davenport is exceptional quality, in very good condition and mostly veneered onto mahogany throughout.
There are three keys for the different locks and the pop-up action works well. (Circa 1870)
